Biophilia

Biophilia is a quiet immersion into the human connection with nature—figures adrift in botanical realms, rendered in a fluid, watercolour style that feels both intimate and ephemeral. Each piece captures the in-between: body and landscape, self and surrounding, merging in soft washes and intuitive gestures. There’s a tenderness here, a sense of pause, as if the figures are being gently reclaimed by the wild. Biphilia blurs the boundaries between observer and environment—where nature isn’t backdrop, but participant.

My work isn’t simply about the subjects I paint—it’s about the story each piece holds beneath the surface. Every gesture, figure, or motif is a vessel for something deeper: a narrative thread, a remembered feeling, a provocation. The concept drives the composition. I’m less interested in perfect likeness and more drawn to evoking something intangible—an atmosphere, a tension, a moment suspended in thought. Ultimately, I’m interested in building pieces with a strong sense of character—works that feel alive and invite the viewer into a layered, emotional world.
